اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ
Transliteration Iqra biismi rabbika allathee khalaqa
Abdullah Yusuf Ali Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created-
Mufti Taqi Usmani Read with the name of your Lord who created (every thing),
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall Read: In the name of thy Lord who createth,
Sahih International Recite in the name of your Lord who created -
French Lis, au nom de ton Seigneur qui a créé,
Japanese 読め，「創造なされる御方，あなたの主の御名において。
Russian Читай во имя твоего Господа, Который сотворил все сущее.
Portugese Lê, em nome do teu Senhor Que criou;
German Lies im Namen deines Herrn, Der erschuf.
96:2
خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ مِنْ عَلَقٍ
Transliteration Khalaqa alinsana min AAalaqin
Abdullah Yusuf Ali Created man, out of a (mere) clot of congealed blood:
Mufti Taqi Usmani He created man from a clot of blood.
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall Createth man from a clot.
Sahih International Created man from a clinging substance.
French qui a créé l'homme d'une adhérence.
Japanese 一凝血から，人間を創られた。」
Russian Он сотворил человека из сгустка крови.
Portugese Criou o homem de algo que se agarra.
German Er erschuf den Menschen aus einem Blutklumpen.
96:3
اقْرَأْ وَرَبُّكَ الْأَكْرَمُ
Transliteration Iqra warabbuka alakramu
Abdullah Yusuf Ali Proclaim! And thy Lord is Most Bountiful,-
Mufti Taqi Usmani Read, and your Lord is the most gracious,
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous,
Sahih International Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous -
French Lis! Ton Seigneur est le Très Noble,
Japanese 読め，「あなたの主は，最高の尊貴であられ，
Russian Читай, ведь твой Господь – Самый великодушный.
Portugese Lê, que o teu Senhor é Generosíssimo,
German Lies; denn dein Herr ist Allgütig.
96:4
الَّذِي عَلَّمَ بِالْقَلَمِ
Transliteration Allathee AAallama bialqalami
Abdullah Yusuf Ali He Who taught (the use of) the pen,-
Mufti Taqi Usmani who imparted knowledge by means of the pen.
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall Who teacheth by the pen,
Sahih International Who taught by the pen -
French qui a enseigné par la plume [le calame],
Japanese 筆によって（書くことを）教えられた御方。
Russian Он научил посредством письменной трости –
Portugese Que ensinou através do cálamo,
German Der mit dem Schreibrohr lehrt
96:5
عَلَّمَ الْإِنسَانَ مَا لَمْ يَعْلَمْ
Transliteration AAallama alinsana ma lam yaAAlam
Abdullah Yusuf Ali Taught man that which he knew not.
Mufti Taqi Usmani He taught man what he did not know.
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall Teacheth man that which be knew not.
Sahih International Taught man that which he knew not.
French a enseigné à l'homme ce qu'il ne savait pas.
Japanese 人間に未知なることを教えられた御方である。」
Russian научил человека тому, чего тот не знал.
Portugese Ensinou ao homem o que este não sabia.
German lehrt den Menschen, was er nicht wußte.
