This is the first of the articles in the 'Youth of Islam' series. We InshaAllah hope to add more articles on the great sons and daughters of Islam that history has produced. It is sad to know that the youth of today would know more about the life of a 'celebrity' than they would about these illustrious youth, the likes of which are desperately needed in the world today. We sincerely hope to break the stereotype in the minds of the people that pious individuals dont necessarily equate to old men with big beards and who have nothing else to do.
Allaah says :
“O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allaah is that (believer) who has At‑Taqwa [i.e. he is one of the Muttaqoon (the pious)]. Verily, Allaah is All‑Knowing, All‑Aware”The Holy Qur'an, Chapter 49, Verse 13
It was reported from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (pbuh) said:
“There are seven whom Allaah will shade with His shade on the day when there will be no shade except His: the just ruler; a young man who grows up worshipping his Lord; a man whose heart is attached to the mosque; two men who love one another for the sake of Allaah and meet and part on that basis; a man who is called by a woman of rank and beauty and says ‘I fear Allaah’; a man who gives in charity and conceals it to such an extent that his left hand does not know what his right hand gives; and a man who remembers Allaah when he is alone, and his eyes fill up.” (Agreed upon, narrated by al-Bukhaari, no. 620; Muslim, no. 1712; and others).

" Say: "Tell me then, the things that you invoke besides Allah - if Allah intended some harm to me, could they remove His harm, or if He intended some mercy for me, could they withhold His Mercy?" Say: "Sufficient for me is Allah; in Him those who trust [the true Believers] must put their trust."" The Holy Qur'an, Chapter 39, Verse 38
In this verse, Allah , Most Glorified, Most High commands His Prophet, Muhammad (pbuh) to reject those powerless, graven images worshipped by the polytheists, which can neither remove any harm which might befall a person by Allah's Decree, nor prevent any sustenance or blessings which might come to a person from Him. Then He commands him to place his trust in Allah , for He is Sufficient to bring benefit or prevent harm for all who sincerely depend upon Him.

Christians and Muslims both believe in Jesus, love him, and honor him. They are, however,
divided over the question of his divinity.
Fortunately, this difference can be resolved if we refer the question to both the Bible and the
Qur'an, because, both the Bible and the Qur'an teach that Jesus is not God.

"And We have not sent you except as a mercy to mankind" (Surah Al-Anbiyah 21:107)1
The year is 570 CE, five years after the death of the Roman Emperor Justinian. An army of men, horses and elephants ruthlessly march towards the city of Makkah, intending to wipe it out of existence. This is the army of the Abysinnian warlord Abraha, who after conquering Yemen is now advancing towards the sacred city of Makkah. One of the notables of Makkah, Abdul-Muttalib, has ordered all the women and children to go up into the mountains and take refuge there whilst the men go and fight. However, the men of Makkah are of no match to the deadly Abysinnian lancers who soon crush their resistance on the borders of the city.

The more we advance on the road to
science in all directions, micro and macro, the arguments in favor of
an intelligent creator become more and more eloquent. In the face of
such facts the least one can do is acknowledge the Creator. Deliberate
attempts not to is evidently dishonesty. With this thought in mind,
I invite you all to examine the contents of this page.
This paper DOES NOT present in any
way the Christian Creationists position on humankind's origin.

Sufyaan Ibn 'Abdillaah said: "O Messenger of Allah, tell me something about Islam of which I will not ask anyone else besides you (after that)." He said: "Say: 'I believe in Allah' and then be steadfast (upon that)."1

One of the great advantages of staying in Saudi Arabia is that you get to visit these blessed places often. Alhamdulillah, Sameer and I visited Madinah & Makkah in the Holy month of Ramadan and enjoyed the hospitality of Muslims who inhabit this lovely place.

The Corruption of the Bible – A Fact Attested by the Quran
Two Christian brothers
Sam Shamoun and Jochen Katz in their article found here have included part of one of my articles titled “Refuting Christian Claim
that Quran testifies the Bible to be Uncorrupted”. Our brothers have tried to analyze certain
arguments focusing especially on the word “Saddaqa” used in the
concerned Quranic verses. Insha’allah this article will canvass the
points which they have raised.

In all their desperation Christian
missionaries have now started to claim that according to the Quran Paul
was a prophet of God. Their conclusions are based on conjectures and
the misrepresentation of the text of the Quran. Simply put, there is
not a single place in the Quran which even mentions the name “Paul”
let alone mentioning him to be a prophet of God.
To make such claims the Christian missionaries
run to Tafsir Ibn Kathir. They read out the tafsir by Ibn Kathir regarding
the 14th ayah (Verse) of the 36th Surah (Chapter)
of the Quran.
When
We (first) sent to them two apostles, they rejected them: But We strengthened
them with a third: they said, “Truly, we have been sent on a mission
to you.” – [Translation: Abdullah
Yusuf Ali]

Salaah, one of the pillars of Islam is a duty enjoined upon believers to be performed sincerely and devotedly. A Muslim should always strive towards earning the pleasure of Allah (swt). There is undoubtedly no better way of achieving it than by fulfilling the purpose for which we have been sent on earth by Allah (swt).
And [tell them that] I have not created the invisible beings and men to any end other than that they may [know and] worship Me. The Holy Qur'an, Chapter 51, Verse 56

It is permissible to grieve for the departure of a loved one, but if the grief exceeds the limits and becomes a form of objection to Allah's decree it becomes totally prohibited and may cause suffering for the deceased in his grave pr in the Hereafter. Wailing is weeping or crying that exceeds moderateness to the level of screaming and is often associated with words of excessive praise for the deceased or objection against Allah's decree.

Imagine ….. A world where we focus more on our similarities and less on our differences ….. A world where differences of religion, race and caste are not the reason for injustice …. A world where we can live justly and not oppress one another.
What can lead to such a utopian society? Aren’t our petty differences the root cause for most of the problems in the world?

"I am angry. I have been angry for a long time now. My patience is wearing thin and one of these days I will reach breaking point. I fear that day because I know my rage will blind my rationality. A lot of innocent people might be affected by me but what the hell … I can't take this nonsense any longer! My tears blind me …. I no longer care whether it is right or left. How long, Oh God, will this continue …?"

The Religion of Modern Science, Roots of modern God-free thinking
"Modern science directly implies that the world is organized strictly in accordance with mechanistic principles. There are no purpose principles whatsoever in nature. There are no gods and no designing forces that are rationally detectable. Second, modern science directly implies that there are no inherent moral or ethical laws, no absolute guiding principles for human society. Third, human beings are marvellously complex machines. The individual human becomes an ethical person by means of two primary mechanisms: heredity and environmental influences. Fourth, we must conclude that when we die that is the end of us." [One of the contemporary supporters of Darwinism Prof. William Province, Cornell University]

Reason, and not external rites, guides life in Islam
The teachings of the Holy Qur'an are in consonance with the dictates of reason. In fact, the Holy Book often invites attention to rational faculty by such words as
"Do you understand? Do you not reflect? There are signs in this for people who reflect; ... that you may ponder" The Holy Qur'an, Chapter 16, Verses 11, 13, 65, 67, 69.

When struck by an affliction, a believer is required to be patient, trust that Allah(swt) will reward him for his affliction, and proclaim that he belongs to Allah and unto Him he will return.
Anas(ra) reported that Allah's Messenger(pbuh) passed by a woman crying next to a grave. He told her, "Have taqwa of Allah, and be patient." Not recognizing
him, she responded, "Leave me alone, you have not been struck by an afflication like mine!". She was then told that he was Allah's Messenger(pbuh). Extremely
distressed and agitated at her blunder, she hastened to him and said "O Allah's Messenger, I did not recognize you." The Messenger(puh) replied:
"Indeed, patience should be displayed at the beginning of the affliction." (Recorded by Al Bukhari, Muslim)

God does not forbid you to treat kindly and act equitably toward those who neither fought you in the matter of religion nor driven you out of your home. Indeed, God loves the just. The Holy Qur’an, Chapter 60, Verse 8
Antagonism toward Islam has been a permanent fixture in Europe since the time of the Crusades. In the past, the enemy par excellence , the Arab heathen, was in a distant land. However, in this century, with a large immigrant and "converted" population, the West must confront this "enemy" in its own land. With more than SIX (6) million Muslims in America, xenophobia reveals itself often in an extremely virulent manner.

If so, then provide an answer to the following questions. "Evolution" in this context is the idea that natural, undirected processes are sufficient to account for the existence of all natural things.
Something from nothing?
The "Big Bang", the most widely accepted theory of the beginning of the universe, states that everything developed from a small dense cloud of subatomic particles and radiation which exploded, forming hydrogen (and some helium) gas. Where did this energy/matter come from? How reasonable is it to assume it came into being from nothing? And even if it did come into being, what would cause it to explode?

This Universe, indeed displays a remarkable vista of order and consistency. We can observe, for example, the great regularity with which the celestial bodies follow precise orbits, and marvel at the way in which water from the seas is brought to the land by wind-driven clouds, which are in turn formed by the evaporation of water: without this replenishment, life would be impossible. We are also amazed by the migration patterns of many species, including newborn eels, that trek through thousands of miles of ocean, to nestle in their own local streams, and of bees, who use sunlight for navigation in their quest for nectar.

" And with truth We have sent it down (the Qur'an), and with truth it has descended. And We have sent you (O Muhammad(pbuh)) as nothing but a bearer of glad tidings and a warner"
