O ye who believe! when ye prepare for prayer, wash your faces, and your hands (and arms) to the elbows; Rub your heads (with water); and (wash) your feet to the ankles. If ye are in a state of ceremonial impurity, bathe your whole body. But if ye are ill, or on a journey, or one of you cometh from offices of nature, or ye have been in contact with women, and ye find no water, then take for yourselves clean sand or earth, and rub therewith your faces and hands, Allah doth not wish to place you in a difficulty, but to make you clean, and to complete his favour to you, that ye may be grateful.

O you who believe, when you rise for Salah, (prayer) wash your faces and your hands up to the elbows, and make MasH (wiping by hands) of your heads and (wash) your feet up to the ankles. If you are in a state of major impurity, cleanse yourselves well (by taking bath). If you are sick, or on a journey, or if one of you has come after relieving himself, or you have had sexual contact with women, and you find no water, then, go for some clean dust and wipe your faces and hands with it. Allah does not like to impose a problem on you; He, rather likes to cleanse you and to complete His favour upon you, so that you may be grateful.

O ye who believe! When ye rise up for prayer, wash your face, and your hands up to the elbows, and lightly rub your heads and (wash) your feet up to the ankles. And if ye are unclean, purify yourselves. And if ye are sick or on a journey, or one of you cometh from the closet, or ye have had contact with women, and ye find not water, then go to clean, high ground and rub your faces and your hands with some of it. Allah would not place a burden on you, but He would purify you and would perfect His grace upon you, that ye may give thanks.

O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles. And if you are in a state of janabah, then purify yourselves. But if you are ill or on a journey or one of you comes from the place of relieving himself or you have contacted women and do not find water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and hands with it. Allah does not intend to make difficulty for you, but He intends to purify you and complete His favor upon you that you may be grateful.

O les croyants! Lorsque vous vous levez pour la Salat, lavez vos visages et vos mains jusqu'aux coudes; passez les mains mouillées sur vos têtes; et lavez-vous les pieds jusqu'aux chevilles. Et si vous êtes pollués "junub", alors purifiez-vous (par un bain); mais si vous êtes malades, ou en voyage, ou si l'un de vous revient du lieu ou' il a fait ses besoins ou si vous avez touché aux femmes et que vous ne trouviez pas d'eau, alors recourez à la terre pure, passez-en sur vos visages et vos mains. Allah ne veut pas vous imposer quelque gêne, mais Il veut vous purifier et parfaire sur vous Son bienfait. Peut-être serez-vous reconnaissants.
О те, которые уверовали! Когда вы встаете на намаз, то умойте ваши лица и ваши руки до локтей, оботрите ваши головы и умойте ваши ноги до щиколоток. А если вы находитесь в половом осквернении, то очиститесь. Если же вы больны или находитесь в путешествии, если кто-либо из вас пришел из уборной или если вы имели близость с женщинами, и вы не нашли воды, то направьтесь к чистой земле и оботрите ею ваши лица и руки. Аллах не хочет создавать для вас трудности, а хочет очистить вас и довести до конца Свою милость по отношению к вам, – быть может, вы будете благодарны.

Ó fiéis, sempre que vos dispuserdes a observar a oração, lavai o rosto, as mãos e os antebraços até aos cotovelos; esfregai a cabeça, com as mãos molhadas e lavai os pés, até os tornozelos. E, quando estiverdes polutos, higienizai-vos; porém, se estiverdes enfermos ou em viagem, ou se vierdes de lugar escuso ou tiverdes tocado as mulheres, sem encontrardes água, servi-los do tayamum com terra limpa, e esfregai com ela os vossos rostos e mãos. Deus não deseja impor-vos carga alguma; porém, se quer purificar-vos e agraciar-vos, é para que Lhe agradeçais.

O ihr, die ihr glaubt! Wenn ihr euch zum Gebet begebt, so wascht euer Gesicht und eure Hände bis zu den Ellenbogen und streicht über euren Kopf und wascht eure Füße bis zu den Knöcheln. Und wenn ihr im Zustande der Unreinheit seid, so reinigt euch. Und wenn ihr krank seid oder euch auf einer Reise befindet oder einer von euch von der Notdurft zurückkommt, oder wenn ihr Frauen berührt habt und kein Wasser findet, so sucht reinen Sand und reibt euch damit Gesicht und Hände ab. Allah will euch nicht mit Schwierigkeiten bedrängen, sondern Er will euch nur reinigen und Seine Gnade an euch erfüllen, auf daß ihr dankbar sein möget
